When I first saw the images by Mr. Jim Booth on the Internet of the Oil House, I just knew I had to model this. It first started as a project for my personal layout. I wasn’t quite sure yet if I wanted this to be a craftsman kit. There were a few hurdles to get over, specifically all the different details that had to be created if I was going to make this into a craftsman kit. With the 3D printing, I was able to remove any doubt that any detail was impossible. We have details in this kit that would have been unthinkable to do with the traditional White Metal Castings process I have used in the past. Once the prototype was completed on my layout, I was very happy with how it turned out and looked, so began the process of constructing another one on a diorama that I could take to future conventions and photograph outside. There are a lot of new details and techniques used in this kit. New products used to achieve the look and feel of late winter for this scene, all which is detailed and explained in the accompanying manual you will get when you order this kit. I hope you enjoy our latest release and as always, comments and questions are always welcome.
It has been a while since I last updated the site with any news. First off, hope everyone is doing well and staying safe in these unprecedented times.
If ever there was a question of allocating so much time and effort towards your layouts and or any aspect of model railroading the world’s greatest hobby, it has to be now. It is truly amazing what can be accomplished when you put your mind to it and forge ahead.
I am currently working on a new Diamond Series Kit, which should be available for preview by Dec. 2020 on our website.
You will notice the White Metals Casting Store is now open. A lot of work went into setting this up. We have tested and tested, so far so good. Everything appears to be working, as it should be. These are not all the castings available; I will update periodically and add more as time permits. If you are aware of certain castings that you would like from the SRMW and RSM Collection and are not on our current list available online, please don’t hesitate to send a request.
All these prices are in Canadian Dollars. Whichever way you decide to pay, that service provider will do the Currency Exchanges.
I will have an Instagram Page up soon, which will highlight my personal model railroad I have been working on. I look forward to sharing the progress and any questions and/or comments you may have. Damn, I love this Hobby
